Centreville Man Dies in Tuscaloosa County Crash
A Centreville man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Aug. 14 in Tuscaloosa County.
Richard J. Whaley, 37, was driving a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup when he lost control, leaving Alabama Highway 69 and striking multiple trees. Authorities reported that Whaley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident occurred around 5:25 p.m. near the 172-mile marker, approximately 23 miles north of Northport. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division is currently investigating the crash. No additional information has been released.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but Whaley sustained fatal injuries. There were no other vehicles involved in the incident.
