HONOLULU (Island News) – A serious crash on Keeaumoku Street and Dominis Street on Monday hospitalized a teen moped driver.
Authorities said emergency responders arrived at approximately 11 a.m. to treat the 16-year-old male driver, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet. He collided with a vehicle and sustained a head injury.
The teen was transported to a nearby emergency room in serious condition. Details regarding the other vehicle and its occupants remain unconfirmed.
Traffic was affected as first responders worked at the scene; however, the status of lane closures has not been released. The incident is under investigation by local authorities.
