PLYMOUTH, MA — A driver died following a two-vehicle crash on Plimoth Patuxet Highway at State Road on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 9:45 a.m.
Another driver was transported to the hospital with injuries, according to Plymouth Police. The identities of the drivers have not been released.
State Road heading north was closed at Beaver Dam Road, while Plimoth Patuxet Highway heading south was closed at State Road. Authorities expect the closures to last for an extended period, urging drivers to seek alternate routes.
Authorities did not provide additional details about the cause of the crash or potential charges pending the investigation.
In a separate incident, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced that Route 3A was closed due to another crash between Rocky Hill Road and Powerhouse Road. The agency reported that this closure would be in effect for several hours, but it remains unclear if it is related to the Plymouth crash.
