Madison man found guilty on multiple felony charges for crash that injured police officer.

MADISON (WKOW) — Christopher Brugger Jr. was found guilty of multiple felonies on Thursday night related to a police chase that injured a Madison officer.

The jury convicted Brugger, 37, on 13 counts, including fleeing an officer causing bodily harm and resulting in injury. The chase occurred on Sept. 27, 2025, when Brugger led Monona police on a nearly 6-mile pursuit.

It ended in a collision on Terminal Drive near McFarland. Witnesses reported Brugger swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding with a Madison police squad , resulting in a fiery crash.

Officer Ryan Kimberley suffered severe injuries in the incident and was transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities stated that his medical team remains uncertain about his future ability to return to work. Kimberley was released from the hospital in late October.

Brugger's sentencing date has yet to be determined.
