LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A Las Vegas woman was sentenced Wednesday for her role in a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred last year.
Karen Cannon, 40, pleaded guilty to reckless driving and hit-and-run resulting in death, according to court records. The incident involved a Tesla that struck 63-year-old Patrick Deloriea as he crossed Rainbow Boulevard at Vegas Drive on May 13, 2025.
Authorities reported that the Tesla did not stop after the collision, and Deloriea died from his injuries. Cannon was arrested weeks later, with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stating she visited two body shops to repair her vehicle, allegedly claiming she thought she had hit an animal.
Cannon was sentenced to 38 months to eight years in prison.
