A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving a school bus in West Des Moines on April 21.
The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of EP True Parkway, according to a release from Sgt. Dan Wade of the West Des Moines Police Department. Brian Franklin, 51, from West Des Moines, sustained critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
There were six individuals on the school bus at the time of the crash, and authorities confirmed that none were injured. No other individuals were on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
First responders closed the roadway for the emergency response; the street reopened at approximately 7 p.m. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
