Northbound I-25 Closed Over Five Hours After Semitrailer Crash Near Fort Collins
Fort Collins, CO — Northbound Interstate 25 was closed for over five hours Wednesday morning following a crash involving two semitrailers near milepost 275, just south of Wellington.
Colorado State Patrol troopers received reports of the incident at 5:24 a.m. Both trucks were traveling in the same direction, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation, according to authorities.
The collision triggered a small brush fire in the median, which was swiftly extinguished. There were no reported injuries, and no vehicles were engulfed in flames.
Both directions of I-25 faced temporary closures. All southbound lanes were reopened shortly before 7 a.m., while northbound lanes resumed normal traffic at 10:40 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing.
