MADISON (WKOW) — A Madison man has been sentenced for a fatal crash that occurred on March 6, 2025.

Rayan Bertrand, 29, pleaded guilty to homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle following the incident near South Gammon Road and Raymond Road. Authorities said he admitted to consuming alcohol before driving at speeds up to 90 miles per hour and colliding with an .

The crash resulted in the death of 67-year-old Mary Pritchard. The court imposed a 14-year sentence on Bertrand, which includes eight years of initial confinement in Wisconsin State Prison, followed by six years of extended supervision. Ten additional charges against him were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Emergency responders attended the scene, providing medical aid, but Pritchard was shortly after the crash. The investigation by local authorities remains ongoing.
