PHILADELPHIA — A 10-year-old survivor of a Northeast Philadelphia medical jet crash was honored Friday night at a Philadelphia 76ers game.
Ramesses Vazquez-Viana, 10, rang the ceremonial bell before tipoff as the crowd applauded, according to KYW.
He survived a crash in Northeast Philadelphia and suffered burns over more than 90% of his body, undergoing more than 40 surgeries during nearly a year of treatment in Boston, according to KYW/CNN Newsource.
He has recently returned to school part time, according to KYW.
Supporters have assisted the family, including David Kelleher of David Dodge, who provided a minivan and a courtside experience for the game, according to KYW.
Vazquez-Viana appeared on court with his mother and received a standing ovation, witnesses reported.
