ROCKPORT, ME — A motorcycle accident on Route 17 Sunday afternoon left a 58-year-old man seriously injured.
According to the Rockport Fire Department, the motorcycle caught fire after colliding with a car. The operator, identified as Mark Porter of Washington, was thrown approximately 50 feet from the vehicle.
Authorities reported that Porter sustained serious injuries to his body and legs and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the car, who pulled into the path of the motorcycle, did not sustain any injuries.
Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, and the crash is currently under investigation. No lane closures were reported.
