Two Fatalities in Icy Highway Crash in Northern Iowa

HANCOCK COUNTY, Iowa — Two individuals are dead following a crash on Highway 18 on Wednesday at approximately 4:30 a.m.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, Angel Ruiz-Tamayo, 46, of Clarion, lost control of his Chevrolet Silverado while traveling westbound between Duncan and Garner. The vehicle veered off the icy road, colliding with another vehicle.

Ruiz-Tamayo and his passenger, Constantino Cruz Barradas, 40, of Goodell, were at the scene. Another passenger was transported to a local hospital, and the driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries.

Emergency services responded promptly, and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
