Legendary golfer Tiger Woods was arrested Friday afternoon on suspicion of DUI following a rollover crash in South Florida, authorities said.
The crash occurred around 2 p.m. near 281 Beach Road on Jupiter Island, according to the Martin County Sheriff's Office. An SUV was found on its side at the scene, but Woods was not injured and managed to exit the vehicle.
Authorities confirmed that Woods underwent a breathalyzer test, registering a blood alcohol content of 0.00. However, he refused to submit to a urinalysis test, leading to charges of DUI with property damage and refusal to comply with a lawful request, according to Sheriff John Budensiek.
The incident took place shortly after Woods participated in the TGL final, an indoor golf league he co-founded, where he competed for his Jupiter Links team. His last PGA Tour appearance was at the 2024 Open Championship.
Woods has a history of DUI incidents, including a 2017 arrest in Palm Beach County leading to a guilty plea for reckless driving. He has won 15 major championships, second only to Jack Nicklaus.
The investigation is ongoing, with no additional injuries reported. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
