The crash involved one car, which struck the toll booth. The driver, the sole occupant, was pulled from the vehicle by a State Police trooper, who was part of Governor Kelly Ayotte's security detail, and two bystanders.
State Police Colonel Mark Hall reported the trooper acted quickly, recognizing the seriousness of the situation. “They were able to pull the person out through the window,” he said.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, and the driver received medical assistance. The extent of injuries has not been confirmed.
