A head-on collision Thursday left a car teetering on the edge of the South Brunswick River Bridge, sending two people to the hospital and snarling traffic in both directions.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Route 1. Authorities said two vehicles were involved, and both sustained significant damage. Emergency responders from the South Brunswick Police Department and Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after the accident.
According to authorities, two individuals, ages 34 and 42, were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of one vehicle was cited for speeding, contributing to the collision.
Traffic was significantly impacted, with lane closures in both directions for over an hour while crews worked to clear the wreckage. Towing services were required to remove both vehicles from the scene.
