GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Several individuals were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on southbound US-131 early Saturday morning.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m., just south of Burton Street. According to Michigan State Police (MSP), a black BMW was reportedly traveling at high speed on icy roads when it lost control, resulting in a chain reaction involving multiple vehicles.
A Life EMS ambulance, which was present at the scene with its emergency lights activated, was also struck during the incident. Authorities confirmed that injuries were sustained by several individuals; however, officials reported that none were life-threatening.
First responders worked for approximately 90 minutes to clear the scene, which has since reopened to traffic. MSP is advising drivers to exercise caution during winter conditions and to be mindful of icy roadways.
