A 39-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Kalanianaole Highway Friday night, after rear-ending another motorcyclist.
The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. Authorities reported that the victim was traveling eastbound when the collision took place. Emergency responders, including the Honolulu Fire Department, arrived on the scene to provide medical aid, but the man was pronounced dead shortly after.
The other motorcyclist sustained minor injuries but declined further medical attention. Kalanianaole Highway was partially closed for approximately two hours while authorities conducted their investigation and cleared the wreckage.
According to police, speed is believed to be a factor in the incident. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details on the deceased have been released pending notification of next of kin.
