ESTHERVILLE, Iowa — March 16, 2026, 3:03 p.m. CT — A two-vehicle collision on Highway 9 near Main Street resulted in three injuries, according to authorities.

The accident occurred at approximately 1:15 p.m. when a sedan and a pickup truck collided at the intersection. Emergency responders from the Estherville Police Department and Emmet County Ambulance were on the scene within minutes, providing medical assistance to the injured.

The driver of the sedan, a 32-year-old male, and two occupants of the pickup, aged 25 and 32, were transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash caused significant damage to both vehicles, leading to lane closures in both directions for approximately 45 minutes while debris was cleared. Towing services were also dispatched to remove the vehicles from the roadway.

An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing. Authorities have not yet disclosed additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash.
