Woman Critically Injured in Cornwall Crash Involving Construction Truck
CORNWALL, VT — A woman sustained life-threatening injuries after her vehicle collided with a Kenworth construction truck around 3:51 p.m. on Friday.
According to State Police, 41-year-old Emily C. McNamara was driving a Toyota 4Runner east on Vermont Route 74 when she lost control on the snow-covered road and entered the westbound lane, striking the truck pulling a Brenner trailer.
McNamara was transported to Vermont Medical Center with critical injuries; no immediate update on her condition was available. The other driver, 30-year-old Chase T. Atkins of Addison, was not injured.
Police stated the investigation is ongoing, noting that snow and slippery road conditions may have contributed to the incident. Authorities responded to multiple crashes statewide on Friday, cautioning that winter-like conditions persist despite it being the first day of spring.
Assisting on the scene were the Middlebury Police Department, Department of Motor Vehicles Law Enforcement, Middlebury Regional EMS, the Cornwall Fire Department, and Middstate Towing.
