Pedestrian Struck and Killed on US Highway 61 in Adams County
ADAMS COUNTY, Miss. — A pedestrian was killed in a crash on U.S. Highway 61 on Sunday night. Devon Harper, 29, from Natchez, was walking southbound around 10:45 p.m. when he was hit by a 2019 Dodge Charger, also traveling south.
Authorities said Harper was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mississippi Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the incident. No other injuries were reported.
The southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 61 were temporarily closed for the investigation. Further details regarding the crash and potential charges against the driver have not yet been released.
