An 18-year-old woman from Kansas City died in a crash in rural Platte County on Sunday, October 1, at approximately 2:41 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Route Z near Highway 92. Two vehicles were involved: a 2010 Honda Civic and a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado. The Chevrolet was traveling east when it collided head-on with the Honda, which was driving west.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries but declined medical attention.
Authorities say the roadway was temporarily closed for the investigation and cleanup efforts, which are ongoing. Further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have not yet been released.
