Elderly Woman Dies After Fall from Parking Garage in Honolulu
HONOLULU (WKRC) — An 84-year-old woman died Friday afternoon when her car fell from a high-rise parking garage in downtown Honolulu.
The Honolulu Police Department responded to the incident at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Bishop Street. Authorities reported that the woman was driving on the fifth floor when her vehicle hit a retaining wall, broke through, and fell five stories, landing on its roof on the sidewalk. Medical personnel pronounced her dead at the scene.
Witnesses observed an SUV overturned, with the roof completely crushed. There was also noticeable damage to a railing on the fourth floor directly above the vehicle.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and officials have not disclosed the cause of the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
