One person was killed and three others, including two children, were injured in a multi-vehicle crash Oct. 28 on State Route 109 in Wilson County near NW Williams Road.
Cayden L. Jones, 24, died from injuries sustained in the wreck involving three vehicles, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol's preliminary report.
Another driver was injured, along with an 11-year-old and a 12-year-old passenger. The extent of those injuries was not immediately known.
The crash caused significant traffic delays during the morning hours, according to the Wilson County Sheriff's Office.
Jones was driving a 2017 Mazda CX-5, which was traveling northbound when it crossed into the southbound lane, according to the report. A 2024 Ford Transit sideswiped the Mazda before it collided with a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, carrying a 47-year-old driver and the two injured children.
The driver of the Ford Transit was not injured. Emergency services responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
Lower speed limits were implemented on State Route 109 in early 2025 due to safety concerns.
