COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – A two-car collision on Covington County Road 4 resulted in two fatalities and one injury on October 15 at 4:30 p.m.
According to Alabama State Troopers, 46-year-old Karli Kimmons of Pensacola, Florida, was driving a vehicle that collided head-on with another vehicle operated by 41-year-old Cody Kilpatrick of Florala. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in Kimmons' vehicle, 20-year-old Shailie Kimmons of Pensacola, was injured and subsequently airlifted to HCA Fort Walton-Destin Hospital in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, for treatment.
Authorities reported the accident occurred near Claude Loop, approximately nine miles west of Florala. Emergency services responded to the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
