SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — A four-vehicle crash blocked eastbound traffic on Interstate 80 near Parleys Canyon, causing significant delays.
The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. on Monday at mile marker 128. According to Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Kyley Tobler, a single vehicle rolled over and was struck by a second car. A third vehicle, upon stopping for the crash, was then rear-ended. A fourth vehicle reportedly fled the scene.
All parties involved sustained only minor injuries and were treated on-site, Tobler confirmed. The left lane of I-80 was closed as crews conducted an investigation and cleared the area.
The Utah Department of Transportation advised drivers to anticipate delays and consider using alternate routes, such as eastbound I-215. Trooper Tobler estimated that eastbound I-80 would be fully reopened around 7 a.m.
