OKEECHOBEE, Fla. — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on SE U.S. Highway 441 in Okeechobee on October 3, 2023, prompting road closures.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the incident occurred in the 4200 block of SE U.S. Highway 441 around 2:41 p.m. and is currently under investigation.
Emergency response teams are on-scene, providing medical aid. Authorities have not confirmed the extent of injuries sustained by the pedestrian, but the highway will remain closed for several hours.
Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes while FHP investigates the incident. Towing services are also expected to be on-site as part of the response.
