Eutaw Woman Dies in Interstate Crash
Sept. 20, 2026, 10:48 a.m. CT — A single-vehicle crash on Interstate 59 in Greene County resulted in the death of a local woman on Sept. 19.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Dawn M. Buckingham, 62, was driving a 2002 Ford F-150 pickup when the vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an embankment, and overturned around 9:50 a.m. near the 45-mile marker, approximately five miles north of Eutaw.
Authorities reported that Buckingham sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Emergency responders, including local law enforcement and medical units, arrived shortly after the incident.
