ANDERSON, Ind. — A woman was hospitalized following a motorcycle accident involving a car on Thursday night.
According to the Anderson Police Department, the collision occurred around 9:54 p.m. near the intersection of West 53rd Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Emergency responders found the woman with severe injuries to her lower body and torso.
First responders transported her to a local hospital before she was transferred to an Indianapolis facility, where she is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Investigators reported that both vehicles were traveling on West 53rd Street when the car attempted to turn north onto Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, striking the westbound motorcycle.
The car driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. Authorities have not released the identities of those involved.
The Anderson Police Department Crash Team is leading the ongoing investigation.
