Plymouth Head-On Crash Leaves Driver Seriously Injured

PLYMOUTH, MA—A on Plympton Road at approximately 11:50 a.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2026, resulted in serious injuries to one driver, officials reported.

The driver of the sedan, a male whose identity has not been disclosed, was trapped inside the vehicle and required extraction. After being rescued, he was to Plymouth Municipal Airport and subsequently to a Boston trauma center.

The driver of the SUV, a 17-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. Authorities said she had fled a wellbeing check in nearby Kingston, prompting a brief pursuit by police which was later terminated for safety reasons.

Witnesses reported that the girl attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter by Plymouth police. Criminal charges are pending from both Kingston and Plymouth police departments; the teenager's identity is withheld in accordance with juvenile privacy laws.

Plympton Road was closed during the emergency response but has since reopened.
