LATIMER COUNTY, Okla. (KOKH) — A deer collision led to a fatal chain-reaction crash in Latimer County on Sunday night, authorities reported.
Around 9:20 p.m., Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers responded to the incident on U.S. 270, just east of Hugle Road. According to investigators, a vehicle traveling east struck a deer and subsequently crossed the center line, colliding with a westbound vehicle.
The driver of the westbound vehicle succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. The eastbound vehicle's driver and a passenger in the westbound vehicle were both injured and received medical aid on the scene.
The Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office is working to confirm the identity of the deceased. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with no lane closures reported at this time.
