DEL CITY, Okla. (KOKH) — A man on an electric bike was fatally struck by a car late Sunday night in Del City.
According to Del City Police, the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. near S.E. 24th and S. Sunnylane Rd. The vehicle, traveling north, collided with the bicyclist before continuing across the roadway and hitting a light pole.
Authorities stated that the driver did not stop after the initial impact. “After striking the bicyclist, the car ended up traveling across the roadway and striking a light pole. OG&E is on the scene addressing the downed wires,” said Lt. Blake Reichert.
The victim sustained critical injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released. The investigation is ongoing, with no charges reported at this time. No further details on lane closures or tows were provided.
