TANGIPAHOA PARISH, LA – A 38-year-old man died early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 40.
According to the Louisiana State Police, James Crawford of Albany was driving a 2018 Kia Soul westbound when, for reasons under investigation, he veered off the right side of the highway and struck a culvert.
Crawford, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained severe injuries.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 5:20 a.m. Crawford was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A toxicology sample was collected for analysis.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
