One Killed in Lafourche Parish Two-Vehicle Crash
CUTOFF, LA — A 23-year-old man died in a two-vehicle collision on Louisiana Highway 3235 on Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred around 5:50 p.m. when Kain Galliano, of Galliano, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado east on West 107th Street. Galliano failed to yield while crossing the southbound lanes of Louisiana Highway 3235, colliding with a 2001 Toyota Tundra traveling south.
Both vehicles overturned and came to rest in the median. Galliano, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Louisiana State Police.
The driver of the Toyota sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities indicated that the driver showed no signs of impairment.
A toxicology sample was taken from Galliano, but it remains unclear why he failed to yield. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details were immediately available.
