FORT COLLINS, Colo. — One pedestrian was killed and seven others injured in a crash involving a pickup truck on Mountain Avenue on Aug. 29.
Joshua Robert Douglass, 33, of Denver, died from multiple blunt force injuries, confirmed by the Larimer County Coroner. The incident occurred around 2:41 p.m. when a pickup truck reversed from a parking spot, struck another vehicle, then drove onto a sidewalk, hitting pedestrians before colliding with a tree.
Authorities reported that six individuals, including the driver, were taken to the hospital; three with serious injuries and two with minor injuries. The remaining two individuals either received on-scene treatment or sought care at a nearby clinic.
Witnesses reported the crash happened during the city's Tour de Fat celebration, a popular festival in Old Town. Police do not believe pedestrians were intentionally targeted but are investigating if impairment contributed to the incident.
