Forest Lake Crash Involving State Trooper Leaves Two Seriously Injured
FOREST LAKE, MN — A two-vehicle crash on I-35 just south of 220th Street North at 5:35 p.m. on Sunday resulted in serious injuries to a Minnesota State Trooper and the driver of a Lexus.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the incident involved a parked squad car conducting speed enforcement, which was struck by the northbound Lexus. Both drivers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities identified the injured state trooper as Vu Tan Nguyen, confirming he is expected to make a full recovery. Preliminary investigations suggest that alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash.
The crash prompted temporary lane closures on the interstate, which were lifted later that night. The Forest Lake Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
