GRAFTON, Mass. — A 31-year-old Massachusetts State Police trooper died in a motorcycle crash on Sunday evening.
According to the department, Trooper Jacob Mick, a Northborough native, was involved in an accident at the intersection of Providence Road and Milford Road. The crash was reported around 6:45 p.m. by the Grafton Police Department.
Mick was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of a passenger vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center, authorities said.
Colonel Geoffrey Noble of the Massachusetts State Police described Mick as a “proud Trooper and public servant,” honoring his years of dedicated service to the Commonwealth.
Mick graduated as part of the 88th Recruit Training Troop in 2023, which also included Trooper Kevin Trainor, who recently lost his life in a wrong-way crash.
Before joining the Massachusetts State Police, Mick served with the Northborough Police Department. He was also a graduate of Algonquin Regional High School, where he played hockey.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with additional details expected as authorities continue to gather information.
