Multiple individuals were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash in Phelps County on Sunday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported that a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling west on County Road 3060, near Rolla, around 11:14 p.m.
The vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, striking a mailbox before colliding with a tree.
An 18-year-old male driver from Salem and an 18-year-old male passenger from Rolla sustained minor injuries. In contrast, a 17-year-old girl from Newburg, a 20-year-old woman from Rolla, and a 21-year-old man from Rolla were critically injured.
The 21-year-old was airlifted to University Hospital in Columbia for urgent treatment. The other injured individuals were transported to Phelps Health Hospital by EMS.
According to MSHP, none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
