19-Year-Old Dies After Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-10 in St. John the Baptist Parish
A 19-year-old from LaPlace, William Ferguson, died on Nov. 6 after sustaining injuries in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 10. Authorities reported the incident occurred on Nov. 1.
The initial collision involved a Nissan and a Honda, reported just before 2:30 a.m. on I-10 east, east of U.S. Highway 51. Following the first crash, the Honda became disabled and was stationary when a 2022 Dodge Charger collided with it. Ferguson was a passenger in the Charger.
As first responders were dispatched, Ferguson exited the Charger and began walking near the crash site. He was subsequently struck by a 2023 Dodge Charger. Ferguson sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
According to State Police, the investigation into the cause of the crashes is ongoing.
