Fatal Crash on Highway 50 Claims One Life
SACRAMENTO, CA — A 46-year-old man died at the scene of a crash on Highway 50 eastbound near the 21st Street exit on October 14 at approximately 2:41 p.m.
Authorities said the collision involved two vehicles, a sedan and a pickup truck. According to the California Highway Patrol, the impact caused significant damage and resulted in debris scattered across the roadway.
Emergency responders from the Sacramento Fire Department and CHP arrived shortly after the incident. Medical personnel confirmed the fatality of the male driver, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. No other injuries were reported.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 50 were closed for several hours to facilitate an investigation and vehicle removal. Towing services were requested for both vehicles involved in the crash.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted by the California Highway Patrol to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities have not yet released details regarding potential contributing factors.
