THP Trooper Involved in Crash Amid Series of Law Enforcement Incidents

NASHVILLE, TN — A Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) trooper was involved in a crash on Main Street on October 3 at approximately 2:41 p.m., marking one of three law enforcement-related accidents in two days.

According to the THP, the officer's vehicle was struck while responding to an unrelated incident. Dash cam video captured the moment of impact, which has since raised concerns about driver compliance with the Move Over law. No serious injuries were reported in this incident.

The THP confirmed that the highway was partially closed while emergency crews responded and the vehicles were cleared from the scene. A tow truck was called to assist with vehicle removal. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and have urged drivers to remain vigilant and adhere to traffic laws, particularly the Move Over law, which mandates drivers to give space to emergency vehicles.

In the preceding days, two other law enforcement vehicles were involved in separate crashes; however, no officers were injured in those incidents. The THP continues to emphasize the importance of safety and compliance on Tennessee roads.
