SCIOTO COUNTY, Ohio (WCHS) — A head-on collision early Thursday morning left one woman dead and another seriously injured on Route 104.
Ruth Spencer, 51, of Lucasville, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash reported around 3:40 a.m. near mile marker 15 in Morgan Township, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Authorities stated the incident involved two vehicles and preliminary investigations suggest a southbound SUV crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with Spencer's vehicle head-on.
The driver of the SUV was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Officials noted that impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash.
