St. Louis Man Charged with DWI Following Camden County Crash
A St. Louis man faces DWI charges after a three-vehicle crash on Missouri 7 in Camden County on November 6 at 6:38 p.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2022 Ford Maverick. The impact caused the Ford to veer into oncoming traffic, striking a 2018 GMC Acadia head-on.
Troopers found the driver of the Chevrolet, William F. Hemrick, near his vehicle, which was heavily damaged and off the roadway against a tree. Authorities noted a strong odor of alcohol from Hemrick’s breath, along with symptoms such as watery, bloodshot, and glassy eyes.
Hemrick admitted to consuming three alcoholic drinks prior to the crash, according to court documents. He performed poorly on field sobriety tests and refused a Preliminary Breath Test. Hemrick was subsequently booked into the Camden County Jail.
He has been charged with DWI Serious Physical Injury and DWI Physical Injury. The investigation is ongoing, and details regarding injuries sustained by other drivers have not been confirmed.
