A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 40 in Nashville resulted in one fatality and multiple injuries this afternoon.
What happened on I-40?
At approximately 1:45 p.m., three vehicles were involved in a crash in the westbound lane near the 50-mile marker. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while four others were transported to local hospitals with injuries, including a 32-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both from Nashville.
Emergency responders from the Nashville Fire Department and Metro Police were on-site to assist, with two vehicles requiring tow services. Authorities said the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
