LAKE WORTH BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A 35-year-old man, identified as Cesar James, faces multiple charges following two vehicle crashes on August 1 and August 2.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office (PBSO), deputies first responded to a crash involving a black pickup truck at 605 South Dixie Highway. James was found driving with a revoked license and was initially suspected of DUI. PBSO reports that he became verbally aggressive and attempted to assault firefighters while refusing medical treatment.
Once in the emergency room, James continued his hostile behavior, reportedly threatening medical staff and attempting to strike deputies before being subdued and arrested.
The following day, PBSO responded to another crash at the intersection of 6th Avenue South and South Dixie Highway, where another black pickup truck collided with a streetlamp. Deputies identified James as the driver, discovering the vehicle was stolen from a residence in Boynton Beach.
James now faces charges including grand theft of a motor vehicle, battery on a firefighter, and operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license.
PBSO is continuing its investigation into the incidents.
