Injured in rollover crash after SUV ejection in Cortland

CORTLAND, Neb. — A crash in Gage County Tuesday morning resulted in an Auburn man being from his SUV at approximately 6:45 a.m. at the intersection of Sixth Street and Highway 77.

According to the Gage County Sheriff's Office, a 16-year-old male driver failed to stop at the stop sign on Sixth Street, leading to the collision. Dylan Bowland, 23, driving a 2005 GMC Yukon, swerved to avoid the crash but was struck, causing his vehicle to spin and roll over multiple times.

Bowland was during the rollover and transported to Bryan West Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Authorities noted that he was not wearing a seatbelt and was exceeding the speed limit at the time of the incident.

The teenage driver was cited for and running a stop sign, but no injuries were reported for him.

Cortland and Clatonia Rescue, along with the Nebraska State Patrol, responded to the scene to provide medical assistance and manage traffic control. The investigation is ongoing.
