NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — A late-night police chase culminated in the arrest of David Franklin, 38, from Denver, on a nationwide felony warrant on Sept. 23 at approximately 11:40 p.m.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle with local plates for an equipment violation. Franklin failed to yield, leading to a pursuit lasting 12 blocks before he lost control and crashed into the brick steps of an apartment complex.
Franklin then reversed, drove three houses west, and struck a tree before fleeing on foot. Witnesses assisted in his apprehension. Authorities charged him with felony flight to avoid arrest, resisting arrest, willful reckless driving, and criminal mischief.
Franklin is currently held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
