GERMANTOWN, Md. — A two-vehicle crash early Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway left one man dead and seven juveniles injured.
According to the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, crews responded around 5:30 a.m., found occupants trapped in both vehicles, extinguished a small fire, and rescued two people.
Montgomery County Police said eight people were involved. The adult male, sole occupant of a blue vehicle, died at the scene.
Authorities said seven juveniles, ages 12–15, were in a white vehicle and were taken to area hospitals; police said some were in critical condition.
Investigators said no adults were in the white vehicle and none of the juveniles were licensed to drive.
The intersection was closed for several hours for crash reconstruction, authorities said. The investigation is ongoing.
