A tragic accident occurred late Monday night on John Nolen Drive at Olin Avenue, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The Madison Police Department reported that the incident took place around 10:38 p.m.
According to the police's daily calls blog, the collision happened when a driver attempted to make a turn but swerved into the path of oncoming traffic rather than utilizing the dedicated turn lane. The motorcyclist, who had the right of way with a green light, struck the vehicle.
Emergency personnel pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The driver remained on site and was cooperative with law enforcement officials.
