MASON COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — An 18-year-old woman from Manistee died Monday night in a single-vehicle crash on Countyline Road.
The Mason County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident, which occurred at approximately 10:31 p.m. Monday, west of Red Apple Road in Grant Township. Authorities reported the woman was driving a 2001 Saturn westbound when she lost control, causing the vehicle to slide into the south ditch and collide with a tree.
Emergency responders pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Agencies assisting included the Manistee County Sheriff's Office, Little River Band of Ottawa Indians Tribal Police, Grant Fire Department, and Life EMS.
The crash is under investigation by the Mason County Sheriff's Office. Further details have yet to be released.
