Tragic Crash in Boone County Claims Lives of Two, Including 12-Year-Old Cincinnati Boy.

FLORENCE, KY. (LEX NEWS) — A 12-year-old boy from Cincinnati died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash in Florence on July 6.

Authorities reported Camden Hunter succumbed to his injuries Monday evening at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, over a week after the incident on Industrial Road. The crash also resulted in the death of 75-year-old Shirley Hadden, who was at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.

Boone County Sheriff's deputies responded to the collision at approximately 4:15 p.m. near 7405 Industrial Road. According to the sheriff's office, Hadden was driving a 2020 Fit northbound and attempted a left turn across eastbound lanes when she collided with a 2018 Hyundai Sonata traveling east in the left lane.

The driver of the Sonata was transported to UC Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A second passenger in Hadden's vehicle was also taken to UC Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the crash. No charges have been filed, and all involved parties are cooperating with the investigation.
