Northport Man Killed in Motorcycle Accident in Tuscaloosa County.

A two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 43 in Tuscaloosa County claimed the life of an 81-year-old motorcyclist on June 27.

Roy H. Giles, of Northport, was critically injured when his 2009 Honda Gold Wing struck the rear of a 1998 F-250 driven by 46-year-old Christopher D. Saxton of Boligee. The collision occurred at approximately 10:32 a.m. near Saraland Road, about one mile north of Northport city limits.

Giles was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Troopers from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol Division are conducting an investigation into the incident. No additional details have been released.
